In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of families in Europe, Australia and the US who live full time in mobile homes (RVs -Recreational vehicles - in the US) Seeking an escape from the rat race and a simpler, more spontaneous lifestyle, these people have given up homes and careers, either permanently or temporarily, in order to live on the road. Some earn money by travelling from job to job or working online. Many have got young children, who are home schooled.
Many mobile homes have got a full bathroom, a kitchen, a living room and bedrooms. Some are very elaborate, with satellite TV and Internet access.
As of November 2011, the Smith family is still on the road and has been to 27 states.
